Beautiful, square Thai seat cushion in traditional Thai design and Kapok filling. Kapok (Malay), also called plant down, is the fibre of the kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra). It comes from the 1.5 to 4 cm long fibres of the fruits of the tree growing in the tropics. The fibres have a fine wax coating which makes them non-spinnable, but also has the advantage that the hairs are not wettable. They are therefore often used as filling for mattresses.
