Dhyana Mudra The Dhyana Mudra can be performed with one hand or with both hands. With one hand, the left hand is placed in the lap, while the right hand can perform any other mudra. Ritual objects such as a book or bowl can be placed in the hand. The Dhyana Mudra is the gesture of meditation. When performed with both hands, the hands are held at the level of the abdomen. The right hand is placed over the left, both with the palms facing upwards. The thumbs can touch at the tips to form a mystical triangle, which is attributed great significance by many esoteric sects and is said to represent the mystical fire that burns away all impurities. The Dhyana Mudra transforms any spiritual attachment into clear perception.
